Gadsden, Alabama – Estate Auction

An estate auction Thursday, November 3rd, to sell 13+/- acres of prime commercial waterfront land in the downtown Gadsden area ended with one party as the high bidder. The purchase price is subject to court approval and presently the property is in final negotiation with two potential buyers. The prime commercial development property was offered in an estate auction that attracted five bidders, one of which was the City of Gadsden, each with $50,000 cashiers’ checks.

The 13+/- acre tract located on the Coosa River, in Gadsden, Alabama, is next to big box retailers, and is located on the water adjoining the city boat docks, west of Gadsden’s recent commercial expansions. Positioned just off Hwy. 431, this property’s zoning is considered “mixed use” and is in the Gadsden Downtown Design Review District. This tract is conveniently positioned west of the Gadsden River Trace Shopping Center and was offered in its entirety. Features include utilities with water view, water frontage, and water access in an area with prime development potential and features access to paved road frontage on Lake Street, while being mere moments to downtown Gadsden, Alabama.

The National Auction Group, Inc. president, William R. Bone, stated after the auction “we are still negotiating with two bidders for the entire property; we are going to sell this property within the next day or two.”
